Level 2 Award in Legionella Awareness (Cooling Towers and Evaporative Condensers) & Level 3 Award in Legionella Control for Responsible Persons

Course Type: Rotherham Centre Based max 3 people
These qualifications consist of two parts:
- Legionella Awareness
- Cooling Towers and Evaporative Condensers OR Legionella Control for Responsible Persons
First Part 'Legionella Awareness' is a building block of both qualifications. We examine ‘Legionella Bacteria’, where they originate and what causes them to grow and multiply, and eventually become a health risk.
Second Part deals with the legislation relating to the risk from legionella and its control in the workplace. We also examine the purpose of HSE guides “Legionnaires’ disease. The control of legionella in water systems. Approved Code of Practice L8”.
With the learners who choose to complete the level 2 award, we explore “Legionnaires’ disease: Technical guidance Part1: The control of legionella bacteria in evaporative cooling systems”. We discuss different water systems, including cooling towers and evaporative condensers, how they function and how they should be operated in the correct manner, so the multiplication of legionella is under control, and the workplace can operate safely.
After completing the level 2 workbook successfully, the learner achieves Highfield Level 2 Award in Legionella Awareness (Cooling Towers and Evaporative Condensers) (RQF).
With the learners who choose to complete the level 3 award, we focus on the role of the responsible person on the site ensuring its safe operations and competent staff. We consider what impacts could a potential legionella outbreak have on the workplace, and everyone affected.
After completing the level 3 workbook successfully, the learner achieves Highfield Level 3 Award in Legionella Control for Responsible Persons (RQF).
During our training, we will be asking ourselves:
Can legionella bacteria be passed from person to person?
If I drink water contaminated with legionella, can I get seriously ill?
If legionella bacteria are naturally present in rivers or lakes, why don’t they pose a serious risk to our health?

I really enjoyed the course I did at ADtraining solutions, it was informative, professional and really easy to understand. I have since had a promotion and I feel that doing this course helped me towards that.
